Bridging the Gap: Advancing Assessment of Everyday Functioning in Neuropsychology

$30.00

Description

Neuropsychologists are frequently tasked with predicting functional abilities in everyday life, yet current neuropsychological testing methods are often inadequate for addressing these questions. This presentation will examine the strengths and limitations of common clinic-based approaches to the assessment of everyday functioning, including self- and informant-report measures as well as performance-based assessments.

Novel clinic-based measures designed to improve prediction of functional abilities will be covered. Emerging technologies for assessing functional abilities in real-world settings, including wearable and ambient sensors and ecological momentary assessment, will be examined. Recommendations for advancing assessment of everyday functioning and selecting functional assessment measures for clinic and research settings will be discussed.
